Terms and Conditions

Seller and scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases of physical books from St. Dominic Press through this website. The seller is ST. DOMINIC & CO., poslovne storitve, d.o.o., Sagadinova ulica 15 A, 2250 Ptuj, Slovenia, registration number 8473692000, tax number 78898838, VAT ID SI 78898838. Contact: info@stdominicpress.com.

The store offers guest checkout only. It does not provide customer accounts, stored passwords, an ownership registry, certificates of authenticity, or provenance services.

Products, availability, and prices

We sell physical books. Product photographs and screen colours are illustrative; minor differences in colour or appearance do not by themselves mean that a book is non-conforming. The product description displayed when you order forms part of the contract.

Products are subject to availability. If we cannot supply an ordered book, we will notify you and refund the affected payment without undue delay.

Product prices are shown in euros (EUR) and are final amounts for the books. Under the company’s current Article 94 ZDDV-1 status, VAT is not charged at checkout. Standard shipping to an eligible EU address costs €4.95 per order and is shown separately before payment. We accept delivery addresses only in the 27 EU Member States listed in the Shipping Policy.

Ordering and contract formation

The technical steps are: select books, review them in the browser cart, continue to Stripe Checkout, enter or correct the required checkout information, review the product price, shipping charge and total, and submit payment. Items in the cart are not reserved. You can correct the order until you submit payment at Stripe Checkout.

The store is available in English, Slovenian, and German. You can save or print these Terms and the product information before placing an order. We retain the contractual and transaction information needed to perform the order and meet legal obligations; because there are no customer accounts, it is not available through a store account.

By submitting payment, you make a binding offer to purchase. The contract is concluded when we accept the order after Stripe reports a successful payment. We will provide the contractual confirmation and withdrawal information on a durable medium, such as email or an invoice, no later than delivery. An automated technical acknowledgement is not acceptance if payment has not completed. We may refuse or cancel an order for a lawful reason, including an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, an unavailable product, or an undeliverable address. If payment was taken for a cancelled order, it will be refunded.

Payment and delivery

Payments are processed on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. Available payment methods are those Stripe displays for the transaction. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. Stripe may carry out fraud prevention and authentication for the selected method.

We normally dispatch within 1–3 business days after payment. Estimated delivery is 3–10 business days after dispatch. Unless a different delivery date is expressly agreed, goods are delivered without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. For consumer purchases, risk of loss or damage passes when you, or a person you designate other than the carrier, receive the books. See the Shipping Policy for the complete delivery terms.

Withdrawal, returns, and conformity

EU consumers generally have 14 days after receiving books to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. The Withdrawal and Returns Policy explains how to notify us, return books, and receive a refund.

The withdrawal right is separate from mandatory rights when goods are missing, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise not in conformity with the contract. Consumers have at least a two-year legal guarantee for goods under EU law, subject to any stronger mandatory national rights. Where a book is non-conforming, the applicable law provides free remedies, which may include repair or replacement and, where the legal conditions are met, a price reduction or termination of the contract. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Website use and intellectual property

You may use the website for lawful personal shopping and information. You must not interfere with its security, misuse forms or APIs, attempt unauthorised access, or use automated traffic in a way that disrupts the service.

Unless otherwise stated, website text, illustrations, photographs, branding, and design are owned by or licensed to ST. DOMINIC & CO., d.o.o. Viewing the site does not transfer intellectual-property rights. Normal personal use is permitted; republication or commercial exploitation requires prior permission.

Free digital content

Adam & Eve is available as a free reading PDF for confirmed newsletter subscribers. It is provided for personal, non-commercial family use. You may enjoy it within your household. Any public redistribution, upload, republication, or commercial use of the file or its download link requires our prior permission. Because it is provided free of charge, the free PDF does not create a purchase contract and confers no withdrawal rights. We may update or replace the file and cannot guarantee permanent availability of a particular link.

Privacy, complaints, and law

Our Privacy Notice explains how we process personal data.

These Terms are governed by Slovenian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protection under the law of your habitual residence. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable consumer law remain available.

Send complaints to info@stdominicpress.com. We will try to resolve them directly. We do not recognise any out-of-court consumer-dispute resolution provider as competent to resolve consumer disputes, except where participation is required by applicable law.

Changes

The version of these Terms made available before an order is placed applies to that order. We may update these Terms for future orders to reflect changes in the store, law, or service providers.
